Make Money With AdSense Working on Your Blog - Not in Your Blog

When taking into account a blogging business model, the business model must be backlinks ... that settles the story. It doesn't matter whether you finally shift from AdSense into another way to monetize you site. If you focus on backlinks as your dominant business model, you'll be able to shepherd traffic to whatever site or web page you want to, and there your targeted visitors will do the thing you want them to in very high numbers.

To hustle on a blog as a business is to hustle on backlinks. If all you do is blog super content, well, look at the New York Times and other newspaper properties if you think that business model has a future ... even on the Internet.

There's nothing else to say.

Just to give you an idea how strenuous it is to be freed from this way of thinking, I've been managing Internet businesses for about 7 years, and making a living blogging for the last four. Blogging is the exclusive income I make as far as from working.

Recently, right before writing this article, I was extraordinarily frustrated and debilitated, you know, that burnout experience. When that happens , you can briskly follow it back to a single thing: you've started to be a writer or blogger again, and forgot to work on the business.

A portion of backlinking is writing, but what happens is an progressively considerable amount of time can be done writing without you realizing you've moved toward that. Abruptly you're burning out because you're still hauling the backlink workload, while adding more writing duties.

All this is considerably easy to lose track of while you're in the hub of laboring on your blog business, so take stock of things occasionally to see if you're hanging on to your backlink focus, and aren't blogging more without noticing you're doing it.

I realized that was what I was doing recently, and when I diagnosed the difficulty, it was very easy to finish up and close down the blogging and start centering chiefly on building the blogging business via backlinking blueprints.

Whether you're a beginner or have been doing this for awhile, this is the key to successfully being profitable in the blogging business. Just drop reasoning about it as writing and blogging, and stir yourself to recognize it as backlinkng and anchor text, and you should do radically good.

WordPress - How to Change Your Image Header

One of the things that I love the most about WordPress is that it's very flexible. One of the things that I love the least is that some things are a lot easier to change/ modify than others. One of the harder things to change is the header image.

The header image, is the image that shows up behind the title in your blog. It's the topmost image on the blog, and is often what most people come to identify as the brand for your site.

Depending on the theme that you were using, changing the header image could be a simple matter of filling in a blank, or it could be something that required heavy coding in the CSS file of the theme in order to modify it.

Well, I don't know about you, but the more I stay out of the CSS file, the better. Although it's not perfect, this plugin does offer you a simple solution to creating/ adding header images to your site.

Dynamic Headers

The plugin does require you to copy and paste a short snippet of code into your theme's file. In my case, it was the theme's index file that needed the snippet of code, and I put it just under the line that says "< ? php get_header(); ? >."

After I did that step, my custom image header started showing up in the site that I was working on. It was really quite painless and in my opinion, adding the image made my site friendlier to the reader. See the plugin working over at this trail running site.

WordPress - 3 Comment Plugins

One of the most time intensive tasks on a WordPress site is dealing with comments. If you're not careful enough to enable some kind of anti spam tool like the Akismet plugin, you will spend a large percentage of your day dealing with and deleting spam comments.

I think that you have better things to do with your time than deleting spam comments.

What are some plugins that you can use to help you deal with comments more effectively? How about these:

SI CAPTCHA for WordPress

This plugin lets you add an image captcha to your comments box. The captcha is a little image that requires human intervention before the comment can even be submitted for posting. Most spam comments are auto-submitted and therefore cannot get past something that requires human intervention. This one plugin alone can save you a lot of time.

The one thing that I see that could be a problem, is that depending on your audience, the image may create a barrier for people to submit comments. Some legitimate commenters may not understand the concept of a captcha and/ or may not be able to read the image and opt to just not leave a comment.

Thank Me Later

I'll go on record, again, and say that I hate automatic replies. Having said that, I think that this tool has the potential to change that opinion. What I like about it, is that you can customize the time between the event occurrence (someone leaves a comment) and the time that they get an email reply.

The utility of this, is that someone can come to the site, leave a comment, and "x" number of hours/ days later they get an email from you thanking them. At your discretion, you can then invite them back to the site for a follow up comment, or invite them back to check out something else on your site.

The potential pitfalls are that the commenter may not be expecting an email from you at all, and they may flag your email as spam.

Comment Twitter

This little plugin allows your commenter to tweet their comment and a link back to your post. This could help you raise your site's profile to the twittershpere so it has a lot of potential.

The problem that I see with this, is that it depends on your commenter caring enough about your post and their comment to send it out to their followers. So, you really have to have some very compelling content on your site to make someone tweet it.

And now I would like to invite you to come look over my shoulder as I demo how to install Wordpress. Claim your Free Instant Access to the video when you visit http://www.quickwordpress.com/

Blogging For Home Based Internet Marketing Businesses

Blogs are awesome tools for people with home based internet marketing businesses...a way for you to keep in touch with your market or niche, build your list, and make money. There are a couple key factors that you really have got to keep in mind when you are starting to blog in order to have it work for you.

Stick to your niche

Once you have picked your niche and created your blog then you want to stick with it on every post. I mean, you have some flexibility here...but you really have to write things that relate to your market or you are going to lose them!

So, if your niche is dog training don't start blogging about cats...unless you are talking about training your dog to relate well to cats, or something!

Post daily

It is really, really important that you post to your blog on a regular basis. I recommend you post daily. Get in that habit of communicating with your market-train them that you can be relied on to provide new content all the time.

If people go to your blog and hardly ever see new stuff...well, they are going to lose interest really quick.

To make money blogging you really have to be on people's minds...and you do that by communicating with them on a regular basis.

Be interesting

Your posts don't have to be long, but they have got to be interesting. Give valuable content. Be different. Be fun. Be yourself. It isn't a writing contest...the "grade" you will get is the number of readers you have...and believe me, they are way more interested in the content than the grammar!

I cannot overstate this point! You can actually make some good money...I mean there are people out there making $5,000-$20,000 a month just with AdSense...because they are interesting and readers keep coming back!

It is okay to be controversial

This goes with being interesting...but it is different enough to deserve extra attention. Realize you are never going to appeal to everybody out there. Not even in a very narrow niche. So be willing to take a stand. Give your opinions...be true to yourself. Will some people not like it? Sure...but others will love it.

Listen, don't be rude about it...although there are people who have been successful that way, too, I don't suggest it. But there is nothing wrong with stirring up some controversy. Be on the cutting edge...get a conversation going and you will have more traffic and links to your blog.

List building

If you are going to make money just from AdSense then maybe you don't have to worry about building a list...but I think that would be a mistake! You have traffic interested in a specific topic, right? So start list building!

Even if you don't think you will ever need a list...you just never know! Maybe you will have a product in that niche down the road. Start building your list now so that you can take advantage of it later.

By building your list you have maximum flexibility and control about where you can take your business in the future!

So, start a blog...write posts that are interesting to your niche...and do that on a regular basis. And don't forget to be building your list! Do these things and blogging will be a great asset to your home based internet marketing businesses!

How to Make Money Online With Blogs - Getting Traffic to My Blog

A lot of times when people are learning how to make money online and they hear that blogging is a great way to do that, they get confused about how that is going to work. It seems that the biggest question with beginners to the internet...and beginning bloggers is how to get traffic to the blog. Just like any other web site, there are several ways to get traffic.

Let the search engines know

Search engines love blogs because of the unique content...and that the content is changing all the time. Every time you post you have created new content.

That's great...but you have to send a signal to the search engines that you put out that content. You let the search engines know you have new stuff by "pinging"-basically the equivalent of waving a big red flag that says "I'm here!"

Search engines may find your content eventually if you are writing good stuff, but give yourself-and your blog-a fighting chance and get that attention sooner by pinging.

List building

One of the easiest ways to get traffic is to focus on list building. You can do that through squeeze pages or opt-in forms on your blog...all your usual list building tools.

Email your existing list when you have a super cool blog post. They will read it and post comments and maybe even link to it from their blogs.

Driving traffic

You can also drive traffic to your blog through some traditional methods and linking back to your blog. In other words, anything that you would do to drive traffic to a squeeze page or web site, you can do to get visitors to your blog.

* Press releases
* Articles
* Podcasts
* Teleseminars
* Google AdWords
* Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook

Personally, rather than spending tons of time on that I would focus on using your blog as something that gets indexed with search engines. As you get better and better at writing to your audience and showing up in search engines in a relevant and interesting format more people will find you. Then, over time they will link back to you.

Bottom line for people who want to know how to make money online-use blogs and some simple tools to get traffic to your blog. This will get you set up in a great circle of more and more readers...a bigger list...and let you make more and more money online.

24 Innovative WordPress Plug-ins You Have Never Heard Of

Thankfully, this article will take care of a few of those questions for you. We've compiled a list of 24 plugins that you should take a look at. These plugins are all compatible up to Wordpress 2.7, and most of them have 1000 downloads or less-which means, chances are good you'll be at the front of the trend.

These plugins are broken down into four categories: Those that make day-to-day blogging easier, those that will build your readership, those that will make you money, and those that are really just, well, bling for the blog. We're certain that within this list, you'll find at least a few plugins that will make your blog better.

So, without further ado, let's get started!

Making Things Easier
Google Integration Toolkit - This nifty little plugin brings the power of Google website tools to your Wordpress blog. Once it's installed, you can see how your site is indexed in Google, get detailed stats, earn money, and much more.

Tweetbacks - If you're like us, you like to know if people are discussing your blog. Maybe you even have a Google Alert set up for your name or your blog's title. Tweetbacks allows you to find out right away if someone is twittering about your blog. Any tweets about your posts are imported as comments on your blog, ensuring that conversations are brought back where you can foster discussion (and get more pageviews!), which we think is pretty spiffy.

WP-Optimize - is a database cleanup tool. It lets you manage databases without going to your blog's cpanel or phpMyAdmin. This means you can delete comments, manage posts, or even change usernames.

Real IP - Ever gotten comments from someone who's behind a proxy or private IP? Never again. Real IP does exactly what it says: it corrects the comment's address and shows you where they really are. Not only that, it does it with no special tweaking or settings-it just works right out of the box.

Full Circle - If you're like me, you make sure to announce your posts on your social networks like Facebook and Twitter. After all, what's the point of new posts if no one knows about them? Full Circle automatically updates your Facebook and Twitter with your new posts, and also allows you to add links to a host of other social networks to the bottom of your updates. This means that your readers can share your posts with their social networks as well.

Post to Post Links II - takes care of a nifty little problem most WP users have run into at least once-the loss of valid links between posts when the site structure is updated. Post to Post uses shortcode to link between posts, categories, pages, or even tags. The bottom line is, your links will always be valid-even if you update your permalink structure. Post to Post also works splendidly with the Koumpounophobia plugin. If you have that installed as well, you will get a button installed in the HTML editor that does the shortcodes for you.

Twitter Links Plus+ is another plugin used to integrate the wonder of Twitter and the awesome goodness of Wordpress. It looks for Twitter usernames mentioned in posts, pages and comments, and then converts that Twitter name to a link to their profile page. This means that if Sally123 comments on your blog and you reply @Sally123, Twitter Links will convert that to a link to Sally's userpage on Twitter. Overall, it's a nifty little tool, especially if you already see a lot of crossover between your blog and your Twitter account.

WP Gallery EXIF Reader - For those with photoblogs, this could be the next "must-have" plugin. EXIF information, embedded inside images by the camera at the time of image creation, tells the viewer everything about how the camera was set at that precise moment. It's a valuable tool for novice photographers and professionals alike. EXIF Reader takes that information from the image and displays it next to the photo-it's that simple. It uses shortcode, and is specifically designed for users without access to the php_exif extension on their servers.

Dynamic Headers - as its owner puts it, "fills a void that has been present for a while in Wordpress." Small on code and fast in loading speed, Dynamic Headers does what it says-it allows you to specify header material on your blog, instead of just using whatever your theme offers. What makes this plugin so special, however, is that not only can you have any image file or even a Flash movie, but you can specify a different header for posts, pages, and your front page. Just remember, if you use Wordpress' automatic upgrade option, it will overwrite your custom headers. Backups are your friend!

postMash - gives you the ultimate power: the ability to display your posts in whatever order you want. For those who have taken Wordpress to the next level and have a content management system (CMS), this plugin will be especially handy to have.

Greg's Comment Length Limiter - is a basic plugin with a single function. It sets a configurable limit on any comment's length. Offering a character countdown for users that updates as they type, it keeps commenters abreast of how close they're getting to the character limit.

Tune Library - lets you import your XML iTunes Library into your Wordpress blog. What does this mean to you? It means you can post a listing of your entire music collection. Pretty spiffy, huh?

- Ever had a theme that you thought would be just perfect...IF it was a different color? Theme Tweaker lets you make those changes. It takes the current colors on your theme, and offers a color picker so that you can change anything you want. Preview options keep you from unveiling your creation before it's perfect, and bulk options allow you to change the whole thing at once if you'd like. Thes best part? You can save the child theme without overwriting your master theme.

Feed Reading Blogroll - is a neat plugin that improves your links list. By retrieving the date of the most recent feed-item of each bookmark, Google's API calculates the item's age and displays it in the sidebar.

Sideposts Widget - puts a category of your choice in the sidebar, and only lets posts in that category show. Helpful for any number of things, from short observations to quick links, SidePosts is a great little addition to your plugin repository.

Build Your Readership
Add Users Sidebar Widget - This is a simple piece of code that allows your readers to add themselves to your blog user list. It bypasses the need for a separate register page, and capitalizes on "impulse users."

Whisper Comment - controls comment visibility. While you as the site owner can view all comments, it lets users carry on conversations with each other as well that are "private" on the blog post.

Meet Your Commenters uses the Google Social Graph API to display the profiles and web pages of your users on your dashboard. Especially useful for political bloggers, networkers, or hobby bloggers.

OpenID - is all the rage. It gives users the opportunity to join websites while using the same username and password for them all. This plugin brings that functionality to Wordpress as well. It also allows users to convert their WP password to an OpenID, which means they can use their Wordpress ID anywhere OpenID is accepted.

works in tandem with the OpenID plugin, making it possible for people to not only use their OpenID to log in, but also their Yahoo, Flickr, Google, or other IDs as well.

Comment Inbox - handles comments in a bit of a backwards way that actually seems to work quite well. Instead of keeping comments in a moderation queue so that they cannot be seen until you deal with them, Comment Inbox allows them to post on the blog until you decide differently. They show up in your "comment inbox" and you can choose what to do with them at that point. However, it still handles spam and "bacn" so that it never sees the light of day.

Stumble! for Wordpress - increases your pageviews by using a capability similar to StumbleThru. It can either allow random post viewing, or integrate with Yet Another Related Posts Plugin to only offer related posts for users to "stumble" upon.

User Community - lets you manage extended user profiles, sort userlists, and display them in various formats to give users a sense of community on your site.

Make Money
Amazon Machine Tags - helps you include Amazon items in your posts through the use of tags. It works with both Bunny's Technorati Tags and Jerome's Keywords to bring a seamless integration of Amazon items, along with using your associate ID to make sure you get paid for purchases your readers make.

AdSense Now! - for Wordpress puts Google AdSense code in your pages while keeping in mind the Google Terms of Service. It has a simple interface, easy configuration, and does its job. What more could you ask for?

Job Listing - our last-but-not-least entrant, gives you the ability to make money off a customizable job posting board. Part of an affiliate program, the plugin lets users filter jobs, apply for them, use templates, and much more. The best part is, it's fully integrating with your site, and uses a sidebar widget to display in your blog proper.

While this is by no means an exhaustive list of the best plugins, it is definitely a list of plugins you need to take a look at. You might find them all to be fantastic, and you may only use one. But if even one of these plugins helps your blog, we've done our job!

Blogging and Squidoo, A Marriage Made in Heaven

If you haven't jumped on the blogging bandwagon, it's not too late! Not by a long shot. There are thousands of new blogs created each and every day. Unfortunately, almost as many are abandoned each and every day. Only a few make it into any sort of profitability.

There are a number of reasons for this, but the main one is that the blogger gets discouraged. Why do blogging newbies get so discouraged so fast? Well, there are probably several reasons, but one of the big ones is that they never really get any traction with their blog.

The set up the blog, write a few posts, and then....nothing, nada, zilch.

The Internet is no longer a "build it and they will come" medium. It's a "you better learn how to make traffic" medium. And it's the lack of traffic that kills most blogs.

So, the big question is...how do you create traffic for your new blog? Fortunately, there are a number of great answers. We're going to explore one of the best in this article-combining web 2.0 platforms like Squidoo and your blog. It's a very, very explosive combination. One that, if used right, is likely to send your blog traffic (and your income from your blog) straight up into the stratosphere!

Let's learn how to do this.

What is Squidoo?

Squidoo is basically a free website platform. But in reality it's much more than that. Squidoo websites are called "lenses". And Google just loves Squidoo lenses. If you write your lens correctly, it's not all that hard to rank it in the top of even very competitive Google searches.

How's that going to help your blog?

One of the main factors that Google uses to rank search results is the number and quality of links from outside a given website to the page in question. Links are like votes. The more votes the better. Links are also like a popularity contest, in that not only does the number of links matter, but who you're linking from matters.

As far as Google is concerned, Squidoo is tops. So, a link from Squidoo to your page that you want to rank is seen as a quality link.

You can easily create Squidoo lenses all day long. Once you get the swing of it, a good one doesn't take but about five to ten minutes to whip out. In an hour, you could create six links to your webpage. Social bookmark these and give Google a day or two to catch up, and you should see your webpage rank higher and higher in the search results.

How to Submit Your Blog to Directories

One great way to give your blog more traffic is to submit your blog to directories. By doing so, you increase the amount of one-way links to your blog. This in turn means much more traffic to your site which means more cash.
This is a step-by-step guide, which, when implemented, will guarantee that your blog will have a higher profile.

1. There are many ways to submit your blog to a directory. One of the easiest is to run a search engine search by typing in "blog directory". When you have done so, you will find a complete list of directories. You can then pick and choose which ones to submit to at your own leisure.

2. An excellent website to submit your blog to is masternewmedia. If your blog has an RSS feed you can go to masternewmedia. This will give you a list of top, tested, directories which offer RSS services.

3. However, the above are just examples of general directories. Ideally, your blog should be targeted at a particular niche.

Let's take an example. You have just posted a topic on how to write your own book and you want to link your blog to directories which cater for that topic. Simply type into Google, or any search engine, "submit link" "write your own book" "add link" "write your own book".

This includes both keywords words used by directories - 'submit' and 'add'. A long list of websites and directories will pop up looking for links on that topic. Just pick and choose which ones you want to include.

This has many advantages. Not only are you getting your blog included in certain niche directories but you will also be added to many websites. As these links are one way, you will not be losing any traffic as you would be if were posting reciprocal links on your blog.

4. There is one rule to remember when you are submitting your blog to directories. Search engines don't like to see a massive amount of links to your blog being generated over night. They prefer a more natural, organic approach in which links are created over a period of time. Ideally, what should happen is that you should submit your blog to a couple directories every day and slowly add to more as time progresses. A good piece of advice would be to write down which websites and directories you have linked to so that you don't commit 'link overkill'.

If you use the above as a guide you will have no difficulty in submitting your blog to directories. What's more if you are careful when adding links to websites and directories you will steadily see your blog's profile improve in the search engines' rankings. Ideally, you should be looking at a niche market and submitting to niche directories to get more traffic. Not only that, you will be getting qualified traffic when you do.

This means that you will have an audience interested in your blog. Patience is critical in building up your blog's profile. However, it doesn't have to take ages. Follow these steps and you will be well on your way to having a high profile blog.

Create an Audience For Your Blog Articles - Use Social Bookmarking to Attract Readers

So you're writing articles and posting them to your blogs. The question now is, how do you get your literary work in front of interested readers? There are a few different ways to accomplish this task.

One resource to submit your blog site to is FeedAgg.com. This is a one time submission per blog site. FeedAgg is a form of RSS, or Really Simple Syndication. This means that once your site has been submitted, it will update here automatically as you add new "feeds" or pages. It is then available for public viewing sorted by category and subject matter.

Another way you can bookmark your site is to install a button on your browser bar for a site called Stumbleupon. This installs a button with a thumbs up or thumbs down icon. When you stumble upon a web site that you like, you click the thumbs up icon. You choose a category for the site and type a brief review and it is bookmarked in the Stumbleupon library. The advantage of this feature is that you can use it to improve the popularity of your own web sites and blogs by clicking the thumbs up icon when you visit your own site!

Other services that work very similarly to each other are Delicious.com, Propeller.com and Digg.com. These require you to set up login information before bookmarking sites. These services are also designed to bookmark your individual blog posts rather than a single submission per blog. Each time you write a new page you want to submit to these services with the URL containing the specific post title. For easy submission to over 130 other bookmarking sites, visit Google's socialmarking.com page and follow the instructions on the page.

Once you've completed all of your social bookmarking submissions, be sure to go to Pingomatic.com. Type in your blog post URL and with the click of a button send a ping to multiple internet services to let them know you have a new post to share!

Cheers to your success!

Is Your Blog on Life Support?

Medical dramas have long been a television staple, and the current television landscape includes the popular example, "Grey's Anatomy."

Even if you aren't familiar with the show, chances are you have a least a rudimentary knowledge of the cast. I mean, good grief - with characters like Patrick Dempsey's "McDreamy," and Eric Dane's "McSteamy" - how can you lose? (sigh...) Now, where was I?

There are many factors that play into the ultimate success or failure of a television show, and many of these same elements can be crucial to the success of your blog.

If your blog is currently on life support, I encourage you to check out this prescription for improving its health. See if you can't put some of these ideas into practice. You'll be pleasantly surprised how quickly you can improve your blog's pulse rate.

Time Slot:
You aren't likely to see a season cliffhanger air on a major holiday or a weekend. Why? Because there won't be an audience to watch it. The same holds true for your blog. If you want to attract readers, you should schedule your updates at times that are most likely to be noticed by readers. Wednesdays are statistically better than Mondays. Folks are still working, of course, but the hectic pace of Monday has lessened a bit, and you'll get a much better response.

Eye Candy:
You could just as easily call this the "Baywatch Effect." Do you think if they'd had the original cast from "Revenge of the Nerds" sporting Speedos® that folks would have tuned in?

Um...not so much.

But, shoot a couple moments of Pamela Anderson running in super slow-mo on the beach, and you've got yourself a ratings winner...at least on the Spike Network.

How does this transfer to your blog? Glad you asked.

I'm not saying you need to invest a fortune into a blog theme. These days, there is a wealth of free themes available - and they are yours for the cost of a well-deserved link back to the designer. In addition to this, you should consider the use of colorful photos or graphics to compliment your posts. You can do this by using free photos that are available through Creative Commons, or check out some of the affordable stock photo sites such as iStockPhoto, Dreamstime, or BigStock Photo.

A Healthy Dose of Drama:
If you've heard me say it once, you've heard me say it a thousand times - any press is good press - and blogs are certainly no exception. That drama can take many shapes and forms - it can be stoking the fires of a hot topic in the news; outrageous publicity stunts; contests or giveaways - the list is limited only by your own imagination. The takeaway here is that you should have a healthy dose of drama if you want to hold readers' attention.

The Crossover Episode:
Lots of popular television shows spin off new series by capitalizing on the popularity they have built. You can use the spinoff principle in your blog promotion, in a couple of ways. First, you can leverage traffic on an existing blog to help bring readers to a new web property. Offering free reports, contests, guest posts, and the like will help attract attention to your new venture, and give you a much-needed boost. Second, you can use the power of social media sites like Twitter to promote your blog posts. Using plug-ins, or third-party services such as Tweet Later, you can keep your Twitter followers up-to-date on your blog posts, without any additional effort.

The Cliffhanger:
Who will live, who just bought the farm? These details are always left hanging in the balance. If you give everything away at once, there is no incentive for folks to tune in later. Similarly, if you bombard your readers with too much information, you risk information overload. You also have given them no reason to want to learn more.

Some bloggers post daily, while others may post only once or twice a week. Some bloggers are very active, and post multiple updates daily. If you fall into this last category, be sure and disclose that information near your opt-in box. Better to alert subscribers of this ahead of time, than run the risk of losing them because you are just putting out more content than they are able to digest. Of course, using services like Feedburner will present your updates in a single email, and that makes them much easier for readers to manage.

Give it Time:
Patience is a virtue that most networks don't seem to have - as evidenced by all of the shows that they have seemingly arbitrarily canceled. Rome wasn't built in a day, and your blog following won't be, either.

There is no shortcut or magic pill. Your best course of action is to create quality content, post regularly, and promote your blog. Repeat after me: patience, posting, and promotion - that is the blog success trifecta.

Whether you are blogging about modern medicine or miniature dogs - you'll find an audience if you position yourself properly. The toughest part is getting them to tune in to that pilot episode.

The Easiest Way For Anyone to Make Money Online

I often get asked the question: "What is the Easiest Way to Make Money Online?" and I have to say, based on years of experience that not only is blogging the easiest way to get started making money, but it is also one of the best ways to ensure that the income is consistent and that is most important.

Provided you know how to type, and anyone who has ever sent an email to someone else has the necessary credentials, then you can create a blog.

You don't even need your own domain name or website hosting and there are many people who enjoy a six figure income from using free Blogger blogs or other sites like Squidoo and HubPages.

I personally see too many people 'over-thinking' and this gets in the way of action.

You can quickly pick a product that has an affiliate program where you can earn a commission from places like Clickbank (and they will even show you which products as already selling the best) and then start creating content that will encourage people to get thee product to solve their most pressing problem.

And how do you know what their problems are?

Go to sites like Yahoo Answers, of search on Google for appropriate forums to see what questions people are asking.

When you find what people are searching for, by reading their questions, you should answer them on your blog and then let those same people know that you have found a solution and that solution is in the product that you are promoting.

There are millions of people online every day of the year shopping for products and services that they want or need and you can get in front of their eyes by targeting the content on your blog to show them the answers.

When you do that you will make money and the more you do that the more money you will make.

Should You Use Blogger Or WordPress?

There is often much discussion on Internet Marketing forums about the comparison and consequently benefits of using either Blogger or WordPress.

In my opinion and based on years of experience with both blogging platforms the answer is: It doesn't matter!

No, it really doesn't matter which blog platform you use because at the end of the day all that really matters is getting your content indexed, ranked in the search engines and getting the traffic that will ultimately earn you the income that you deserve if you convince people to take some form of action.

There are people who have made hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars from static websites so they didn't even need a blog to get their message across.

There are people who have made hundreds of thousands of dollars every year from using free Blogger blogs.

They made the money because they supplied a solution to a demand that was in the marketplace.

They solved a problem that people has when searching for a solution.

It is not the blog that will make you the money, it is your content.

Get good at creating good, relevant content, and you can make a lot of money online.

Too many people get caught up in matters that don't really matter and more often than not the advice that is being given on the Internet Marketing forums is not based on any form of experience.

The basics of business online are really no different than the basics of business offline.

Sure the shop front needs to be appealing, but you also need to stock the right goods once people get inside and a flashy shop with no stock is never going to make the business owner any money.

Geoff Shaw will give you step by step training explaining the exact same methods that generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in income each year by using free methods of marketing that anyone can do.

StumbleUpon - How to Part 1

Well, you need to get a lot of traffic to your blog. And now you thinking....'I already know that, but HOW am I going to do it? I have some trade secrets to let you in on. By using these trade secrets, you too, can become a pro blogger.

Today, you are going to learn some great tricks of the trade to grab the attention of StumbleUpon, and use their platform to set your blog on fire. These tips and tricks will get you anywhere from the hundreds up to the thousands of StumbleUpon visitors each day.

StumbleUpon does lean toward some niches more than others, and you need to use this to work for your advantage. You will find that StumbleUpon can be one of the greatest viral marketing tool out there. So here are some tips:

* If you do have a niche that is lacking in the mass appeal, StumbleUpon will be a great boost for you where the others won't. Digg uses a broad forum which keeps their power from weakening in traffic. StumbleUpon works a bit differently by creating more specific categories, providing a more targeted audience.
* Write posts that appeal to the particular social media, if you go for the general appeal, you are going to lose your followers. For instance, Del.icio.us likes anything that their users prefer, Digg likes the appeal of the masses. You have to have content that is going to get thousands of hits, or you won't become a pro-blogger.
* When you are writing for StumbleUpon, you don't need to worry about pleasing the masses, matter of fact, you benefit more by sticking with your niche, yes, even your small ones, and this will bring you some highly targeted traffic.
* So, write your content for your niche, not for the general public. By doing this, you will increase your chances to your post will be submitted to receive more traffic in a more specific category.

In another blog, I will go into the types of posts you should and should not be making. I will go into the types of content and the things you can do to make your blog more appealing to StumbleUpon.

# # How to Make a Living With a Free Google Blogger Blog

It's a difficult thing to convince people you can make a living using a free Google blogger blog, but you can when you put Google AdSense on it. No, this isn't another brief look at putting AdSense on a blog and leaving it there while it does nothing. This is a look at why using a free blog is the best way to do it and why.

Before anything else, someone wanting to blog must make the decision to either want to attract readers or make money; it's as simple as that.

The reason I say that is it's a fact that hardworking writers burn themselves out putting up great content, while getting very few people to click on their ads. That's because people that read your blog aren't going to click on your ads.

The people that will click on your ads will be people who are searching for something; trying to find a solution. You could think of it by putting the words "how to" in front of a topic find the type of people who will make you money.

If they're thinking or going to write in "how to" when doing a search, they're the types of people that will click on your ads.

So anyway, back to the blog platform itself. The reason why it's so powerful is it's optimized right out of the box, so you can for the most part just start putting up your content right from the beginning.

Most people think a Google blog is too ugly to make money, but in reality that's the real secret behind its success. Oh you can make it look good if you want to, but you're defeating the purpose if you do.

The reason why is if people come to your blog with high expectations, they take one look at it and click away from your site. The key to making money is to make it so the only way they can leave you blog is by clicking on an AdSense ad (other than backing out).

You do this by not including a bunch of links to other websites or blogs. Give people an alternative option and you'll find them always clicking out where it doesn't make you money.

This sounds counterintuitive, but in reality it really works, as those making money with AdSense quietly practice and know. If you feel you need to include links, then by all means link to other posts within you blog, or to an affiliate program you're taking part in. Don't send targeted visitors somewhere where you gain nothing out of it.

There is one thing that is essential to making money with AdSense, and that is choosing a targeted niche that will draw the right type of people looking for a specific thing.

You do that by using a keyword tool like the Google AdWords keyword tool and adding in possible topics that can make you a lot of money.

Results will come up showing how many times the word has been searched for, and by clicking on CPC afterwards, find out the approximate amount the word is worth. Unless there's a ton of long tail keywords within you targeted audience, make sure the keywords you find are worth about $1 or more. Otherwise you can get a lot of clicks without it adding up to much.

That's the most important part of the entire equation. If you don't do this right, it won't matter how good you optimize you blog for visitors if there aren't enough people to make you significant money.

Don't only include your main keyword though, as there could be a lot of long tail keywords which added up together could be very lucrative for you. In other words, look at the entire niche, not just one aspect of it.

The next thing to think of is naming your blog in the right way. When you find your keywords, from there include them in the name of your blog, as that's one of the first things Google will look for when performing a search. Also include them in the blog description, and the post titles.

When writing your blog posts, include your keywords in the first and last paragraph, because Google reads a post that way. When you do that, Google will understand better what you're writing about, and send you the most targeted visitors, which means the more opportunity to make money.

Overall, this is the most you can do to optimize your blog. From there you work on building up backlinks, which is ultimately the way you gain success with AdSense.

The secret there is to get properly anchored backlinks, like using the words "free Google blog" in the anchor text. That carries more weight than simply saying "click here" in the link.

There you have it. The secret to making money with a free blog.

Keep the blog simple and plain looking, which a free Google Blogger blog is if you don't attempt to spice it up too much. Write long posts to include as many keywords and long tail keywords in the text that you can. Build up backlinks day after day, and the traffic will definitely come if you choose the right keywords.

StumbleUpon - How to Part 2

In a previous blog post, I spoke of taking advantage of the great resource StumbleUpon and the different types of marketing that some of the most popular Social Media Networks are looking for. We discussed that if you are going to Digg, your posts need to appeal to the general masses, but StumbleUpon really likes the individual niches and specialty markets.

So, lets go into today what you can do to make sure your posts get online.

* Instead of having a link round up on a weekly basis, change it to a weekly themed-resource list.
* News is great for Reddit and Digg, they love this kind of stuff, but if you are going for StumbleUpon, you need to focus on content that is not time related, something that is just as beneficial to the reader in 6 months from now as it would be today.
* If you have a post that needs to be in context with time, then it probably won't get picked up by SU.
* You can make your posts short, but you need to have some good content, utilize some great tips and advice to help your readers.
* Remember, when you have a new reader, you need to sell your content right from the beginning. You want something that will help them right from the beginning. You will not keep their attention with a prologue of 500 words or more, they will give up and move on to the next one. Stumble Upon will be bored, uninterested and pass you by. Make your posts clear from the very beginning.
* Keep it simple, but leave the personal stuff out. Your personal stories may be interesting to your loyal readers, but to a brand new reader, they won't really care.

When you are trying to get your blog noticed by Stumble Upon, don't waste your time on the things that won't interest them, but use the tips that will grab their attention, and you will see your traffic numbers soar.

How to Make Money Blogging - With Planning

There are millions of blogs currently online and most of them will never get any visitors, other than the owners and their friends. There are also a large number of blogs that are generating a huge income for their owners and they aren't the high profile blogs that most people assume are the big money spinners.

To generate a lot of money from a blog, the blog itself doesn't need to be complex. It doesn't need to have extensive content. It doesn't need to have a lot of graphics. In fact it doesn't need to do anything other than supply a solution where there is a demand. To do that you need to find that demand before even starting with the creation of your blog.

You need to ensure that people will find your blog and to do that you need to be proactive at promoting your blog. Without promotion any business will fail and the same applies to businesses online. If you choose your keywords correctly and use promote your blog in the rights places then your promotional efforts need not be too difficult. By the 'right places' I mean where targeted traffic will see what you have to offer.

It's not hard to get traffic but it's a little bit more difficult to get the right traffic and if you're paying for it that traffic will also usually be more expensive. Once again this is where good keyword selection can save you a bundle of money yet still get you a lot of traffic. Simple tricks like targeting misspelled words can generate a lot of traffic for your site yet invariably you will find that there is considerably less competition for those words.

It's the little things that make the big difference when building a blog to make money. Think about what people want and then give them a solution. Find people looking for the solution and let them know that you have what they want. You don't need a lot of traffic to make a lot of money if that traffic is highly targeted and your blog is optimized to convert well. So before you start with that blog that is going to help you leave your day job, spend a little quality time planning.

You may be behind on some of your bills, or just want to be out of debt all together. Maybe you are looking to take a vacation that you have dreamed about, no matter the reason, the result is the same...you need money. Internet marketing is a great catalyst for making fast money, but don't let that be your main focus. If you want to have some real passive income coming in over a long period of time, then you need to learn what successful Internet marketers have learned....and that is the art of blogging!

I know there are some circumstances where you can't wait for money to start coming in, and if that is the case, then you may not want to do Internet marketing. If you need money now, you can offer your immediate services to Internet marketers who are working on their passive income.

If you have a little bit of time, some determination and motivated to succeed, then you are a great candidate for this type of business. You will be creating a long term, passive income that will be your safety net for any hard times in the future. If you lose your job, you still have your income from your blogs.

Passive income is the best income because it is always there. You create the means, then sit back and watch the money come in. There are other means of making money, but you have to be constantly working to bring the money in.

Let me give you an example, if you are needing immediate income, but don't really want to put in the time to work on your own business, you can write articles for other bloggers, who are creating their financial future.
You can trade your time for money, however, in the long run, your money will be gone while the blogger is bringing in money from your articles for years to come.

Learn from my mistakes, instead of working for others, work for yourself, create a future of financial freedom of passive income. This will change your life in ways you never imagined. Believe me, it can be done!

Imagine yourself as a business owner, and you have a sales rep working for you all day, every day of the year. This sales rep is giving your customers exactly what they are looking for, as well as recommending products they would typically buy.

Now, imagine this sales rep making sale after sale, all while you are away taking care of other things. Your income is coming in and you don't even have to be there, wouldn't this be a perfect way to make a living? Well, you can do this, and it is not as difficult as you may think!

Who is this "sales rep" that can be making money for you, even while you are sleeping? This sales rep is your blog. You may not have ever considered blogging as a means of income before, but you may want to think about it now, as it is an insanely profitable business to be in!

The way this works is you create a blog with quality articles, product reviews, and news about a specific niche. You will also be making product recommendations and place advertisements for your readers to check out and purchase, all bringing in a nice commission for you.

Your blog never sleeps, never takes a vacation, never takes a break, but is always working for you. There will be people all over the world who will be able to go to your blog and purchase products through your links.

Your blog will be working for you tirelessly and endlessly, creating an amazing passive income, that just keeps coming in, once your blog is up and running.

Does this sound like the kind of lifestyle you are looking for? If it is, then you cannot go wrong with The Niche Blogger membership site.
